
| Intermediate Crime Scene Investigation (TCOLE 2106) |
This course builds upon basic crime scene investigation principles and is built for Texas Peace Officers desiring their Intermediate Proficiency Certification. Students will learn advanced techniques for managing and processing complex crime scenes, including evidence recognition, documentation, collection, and preservation. Emphasis is placed on scene integrity, chain of custody, legal considerations, and coordination with investigators and forensic personnel. Instruction includes practical exercises and case studies focused on improving investigative accuracy, report writing, and courtroom readiness in accordance with Texas law and best practices. |
