This course prepares Texas peace officers to instruct firearms training in compliance with TCOLE standards. Topics include firearms safety, range operations, marksmanship fundamentals, and instructional techniques. Emphasis is placed on lesson plan development, diagnosing shooter deficiencies, and conducting safe and effective live-fire training and qualifications.

Participants must demonstrate proficiency in both firearms skills and instructional delivery. Upon successful completion, students will be qualified to serve as firearms instructors for their agency.
